The 4th of May was a dreadful, critical day. Early in the morning Shri Nathji had feelings of acute restlessness in his legs and body. Priya Nath gave Shri Nathji some hot water and then biochemic salts. Shri Nathji belched out gas, repeatedly, and said that he felt relieved. Immediately thereafter he had gone to sleep as if from exhaustion. “PRIYAJI!”Priya Nath realised all at once that something had gone wrong and rushed into Shri Nathji’s bedroom to find Shri Nathji sitting up silently in bed with an unwell look on his face. “Gutan kaa There is a feeling of suffocation–in this place!”Shri Nathji pointed out the lower left side of the chest, just above the stomach.“Priyaji aise hee in“Priyaji we must not get involved with doctors. I am perfectly normal now. The feeling has gone!”However Priya Nath was too worried to ignore the dreadful symptoms he had been a witness to, and he called Dr. Kaushal, despite Shri Nathji’s protests. “Daanaa dushman nadaan dost se achhaa hotaa hai!“A knowledgeable enemy is better than a foolish friend.”By 9 p.m. the ECG has come back from Dr. Bhatia’s house, with the cryptic remarks that:“It could be a minor heart attack”.Priya Nath is shocked beyond measure. Dr. Bhatia also says that Shri Nathji should not move from bed and that serial ECG’s be taken over the days. He complains that Shri Nathji has not had any tests done at all since two years – no X-rays, echo-cardiograms etc., and it is difficult to evaluate a person on the ECG alone. Priya Nath is virtually heart broken.“Kyaa! Inn doctoron ke chakkar men naheen parrnaa chahiye!“What!
