During this period, Shri Nathji makes some very important pronouncements to the home group, which are recorded below for posterity – some verbatim, some in translation:1. ““What do these doctors know! Even their Life and Death is in my hands!”2. ““I do not desire Life. Nor do I fear Death.”3. ““I contain both qualities within me– those of a human, and those of God.4. ““My human appearance is to give you my ‘darshan’ and my godliness is to grant you salvation.”5. “The reward of service is not Heaven – it is greater service. The reward of work is more work.”6. “A man must not be filled with pride even after attaining Perfection. He reached Perfection from Imperfection and can again be made imperfect!”7. ““The definition of the Infinite is One who is bigger than the Universe and who exists even within the tiniest of atoms.”8. ““When I was sixteen years old I experienced the pangs of death upon my own body. The agony was more than the sting of a thousand scorpions, it was unbearable. It was then that I resolved that until I had freed mankind of this agony, my work not be over.”9. “I am an artist who is painting your picture. Sometimes I erase the lines I draw – but not to spoil the picture, only to make it more beautiful!”10. “You need God in human form! You will have to believe in someone! If you don’t like me, believe in anyone else you like!”11. “The ‘12. ““I have taken the responsibility for you, not only here, but also in the world to come! Who will look after you there?”13. ““What is the face of Death! Next moment! The moment when Death comes will be just one moment!”14. ““I have come of my own volition into the bondage of this world. For as long as even one person remains in bondage I shall not partake of my salvation!”15. ““Death has no claim over me. But I shall not break the laws created by me!”16. “The difference between a mahatma and an Avatar is: a mahatma goes from bondage to salvation, whereas an Avatar leaves his salvation and comes down upon earth to be in bondage, so that he can free mankind.”17. ““I am immortal! I am always in salvation! But I cannot take the bliss of my salvation for as long as even one soul is in bondage.”18. “This moment of time before you is very precious – it has the limitless ocean of time behind it, ever since the day of Creation.”19. “Money has no value in itself. It is only when you give away money that you can buy anything in return.”20. “At least purchase the ticket of this lottery. Those who purchase no ticket have no chance at all. A possibility exists for those who have a ticket.”21. “Don’t forget that last moment which is to come. No king or monarch can stop it!”22. “I have no thirst – of what use is water? The richness of the western world had no value for me – because I have no desires within me. I returned to the poor in India.”23. “That which is closest to you is your face – and that which is farthest away from you is your face! Has anyone ever seen his own face? Today, you are like mirrors in which I can see my own face!”24. “Only the ‘25. “I want to give you such a Faith, which will make all your fears vanish!”26. “A room may be in darkness for ages – but press the light switch on, and, in a second the darkness of the ages is gone. Realisation can come in a flash!”27. ““I have come to give Divine Grace. And if anyone has not a bowl in which he can contain it, I shall give him the bowl as well.”28. “29. “It is the voice of a devotee:‘Nikal jaaye dam tere kadmon ke neeche ‘May my last breath be spent at Thy feet,30. “I am a companion not only of this world, but also – I do not wish to say the words!”
