July 1990 is noteworthy for the making of Priya Nath’s video film:“THE SAGA OF THE WORLD PRAYER DAYIt is a film in which Shri Nathji is the one and only character. The film is well documented with all the World Prayer Day Brochures from 1984 to 1990 on display, the letters of the Heads of State of the World – and the United Nations, lauding Shri Nathji’s World Prayer Day. “The question whether ‘And if he knows of ‘One’ how he can be called a “When one merges into God, the world vanishes along with all its questions.”Shri Nathji had in the past narrated how a man came before God and asked Him:“Why did you create the world?”Came the voice of God: “The world does not exist now that you have reached me – and the question becomes meaningless!” “He is better than me.”It is a sentence that shows Shri Nathji’s Greatness. Priya Nath cannot even conceive of such a thing, and such a greatness. But Shri Nathji always says this about him:“He is my younger form, my better form.”Shri Nathji extols Priya Nath as a Harvard Scientist who has joined hands with him in the crusade for peace against nuclear weapons.“This is the saga of Shri Bhola Nathji, the undaunted 88 year old spiritual leader, who is beset upon by dangerous illnesses, and is risking his life for the sake of the world.”The scene of Shri Nathji being helped up from his chair by Priya Nath, and the commentary of Priya Nath above, brings tears to Priya Nath’s eyes as he watches the film later.“Yadaa yadaa hi dharmasya glaanir bhavate bhaarat Whenever righteousness is on the decline and evil holds sway,Shri Nathji’s portrait appears on the screen – the incredibly beautiful “blessings” photograph taken in 1950 where Shri Nathji looks just like God.“Ai lakaayato javaabe har savaal,“O My Divine Master, Thy Face is that dictionary which has the answer to all my questions! It is the portrait that had saved the lives of many in accidents and calamities, and brought them success wherever they carried it, even in interviews and examination halls.“Baaz aamdam, Baaz aamdam”“I have come again, I have come again!”The film shows beautiful portraits of Shri Nathji’s youth, bare-headed as well as with a ‘Kalgi’, a feathered plume with a diamond on his turban, which is the most beautiful Face seen upon earth by anyone.‘Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord…and He will teach us of His ways and we will walk in His Paths – Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn any more war.” There is also the quotation from the Garg Samhita, and the article of Khushwant Singh entitled ‘GOD INCARNATE’ on Shri Nathji, in which he refers to his historic meeting with Shri Nathji in July 1988.“This world is God’s world. We were not here one day and we shall not be here one day. God is the Host. We are like Guests. No guest has the right to destroy the house of his host.”Shri Nathji’s miracle is shown on the screen. His letter was dated April 28, 1986. And the major newspapers of the world were surprised that on May 15, 1986, itself, Reagan suddenly wrote a friendly letter to Gorbachev and on June 23, 1986 Gorbachev responded with an equally friendly letter – surprising the whole world. Long-time foes had become friends in no time as Shri Nathji’s letter reached them. “THE WORLD HAS WITNESSED AN IRREVERSIBLE ERA OF PEACE.”The film showed well-documented newspaper cuttings of the time, even up to the signing of Gorbachev’s Final Peace Treaty with President George H. Bush of America, who had replaced Ronald Reagan by that time.“Badle hai koyi aan men ab range zamaanaaSomeone will change the world in a trice, Peace has come and the age of war has gone”The film showed Shri Nathji singing along with these verses that ended with:“Aati hai jahaan men Shahe Mashraq ki savaareeThe Emperor of the East is riding forth in all His Glory,Shri Nathji looks magnificent when seen with the above song in the background. He is, in fact, the Emperor of the East – the Sun of Spirituality, who is in Reality the Emperor of the Universe: “Har kaum ke labon par, har mulk ki zubaan parOn the lips of all the races, the tongues of all the nations,“Ab ‘Nath’ kee muhabbat kaihtee hai iss jahaan koThe Love of ‘Nath’ calls out to the world,The film was completed after many changes and insertions that lasted over two days – in the stifling July heat. It was a strain that Shri Nathji bore stoically despite the frequent stomach upsets, the trouble caused by diuretics, and the overall general weakness due to the hot weather and inadequate diet.“Issee daure muhabbat men muhabbat ka zamaan aayaaIn this age of Love has dawned the era of Love,“Na kisse jang ke honge na Atom Bomb ki baaten,The fears of a war shall exist no more, nor the talk of the Atom Bomb,Shri Nathji had written this ghazal in 1986-1987 itself. How true its words rang out now in 1990.“YE“This Film has been made by God Himself!“Shri Nathji was a hundred per cent right!” Priya Nath records in his diary.Shri Nathji congratulates Priya Nath for the film even though it was He, Himself, who had done all the work. Shri Nathji blesses the video film maker, Paramjit Singh, who had now been shooting the video films of Shri Nathji ever since 1987.“Achhe“Good cooks are hard to come by!”Shri Nathji’s weak health became apparent when he tried on his favourite blue ‘schneel’ velvet achkan – which had become too large for him ever since he first put it on in 1982. Shri Nathji himself was so concerned that he had rejected the achkan himself for the video film.
