A new refrigerator is brought to the house by Mrs. Bahl who had been saving for it since months. It is of a deep blue colour. The old Alwyn Refrigerator – which was much too small, and had become much too old and worn out, had been brought by Mata Tara Devi in 1969 and had served Shri Nathji and Priya Nath loyally for 22 years – without any breakdown of any kind.“Barri der huyi Raajaa! Barri der huyi!”“O Lord, too much time has already elapsed!”When once she was standing at the window of Shri Nathji’s house, listening to Shri Nathji speak to her from inside, she said:“Koyi maanegaa main khirkee te kharre Rabb naal gallaan kar rahi haan!“Will anyone believe that I am standing by this window, here, talking to God?”Shri Nathji was loathe to have the old refrigerator given away and says:“It is a sacred machine and must be preserved for posterity!”It was a little refrigerator that had kept cold water, milk, and fruits that were meant for the Creator of the Universe.
