Tuesday, May 5, 1992, begins very badly but turns into a beautiful day later. Shri Nathji has a bout of acute mental toxicity from the heart medicines, particularly Nifedipine which is known to produce such side effects, which lasts for nearly 2-3 hours, and which was only partially relieved by the Fruit Salt given by Priya Nath. “Aapki unpar barri kripaa rahi hai.”The rest of the day passes well. Shri Nathji takes a tablet of Domstal before lunch, prior to which Shri Nathji had taken curd and then the bottled mango juice, ‘Maaza’, both of which Shri Nathji tolerated well. The lunch later consisted of vegetable pulp, potato-curry water and the ‘chappaati’ pulp, which Shri Nathji ate very sparingly. On the whole, the feeling at noon was much better than what it had been for the past few days. Thereafter, Shri Nathji slept heavily and comfortably after lunch for almost 3 hours, waking up doubly refreshed, and feeling good. He didn’t have an urge for tea and so took the mango juice again.“Ek“I am going to start writing Urdu Prose in a new copy.”Priya Nath gives Him an extra ‘Saraswati Notebook’ lying in the house at 2 am, and incidentally measures Shri Nathji’s pulse – which turns out to be horrifyingly irregular, with a missing beat after every three beats 1,2,3 –, 1,2,3 –, 1,2,3, – . Priya Nath fears that the dreaded Hydra of Evil is rearing its ugly head again, and prays desperately to the Good Lord. He takes Shri Nathji’s temperature and finds it to be 96.6!! – which is very low, and attributes it to the chilling of His body from the Air conditioner.
