Priya Nath spoils the night by discussing Shri Nathji’s medication. He tells Shri Nathji that Dr. (Col) Khanna’s medicine Ildamen was not suited to His heart condition. The medicine was contra-indicted whenever ‘aortic regurgitation’ of the heart was present. Shri Nathji had aortic regurgitation, which had been confirmed as early as 1985 by Dr. Corolli. Dr. Khanna had himself said that Shri Nathji had aortic regurgitation, but that it was “mild” and therefore Ildamen could be given. The drug was controversial, and many doctors had ceased to prescribe it. Yet, Shri Nathji was taking it on the advice of Dr.Khanna, and earlier Dr. Bhatia and Dr. Corolli. Shri Nathji says:“Even if the condition is ‘mild’ as they say, why should the doctors give a drug that may make it worse?”Shri Nathji had perfect medical knowledge. He was the Supreme Physician, and all doctors were imperfect before Him.“O Lord, please let Pitaji become active again and walk about like He was doing on so many occasions in the past over the years, with never any difficulty while walking. O Lord, please save us and help us. Protect us from any ill effects of the 19th.”Priya Nath and Shri Nathji had always considered 19th to be an inauspicious date, for any month.
