It was in November 1996 that two young people made a miraculous appearance at Priya Nath’s place–they were Baba and his fiancé Simran. They were Sikhs. Baba was the grandson of Sardar Harbhajan Singh Chopra of Allahabad. His father, Charanjit Singh and his mother, nicknamed Billa, had great faith in Shri Nathji since many years. When Billa was a child in convent school at Allahabad she had told her Christian teachers about Shri Nathji and had said:“He is my God!”Shri Nathji had always spoken of her devotion, and, indeed, the faith and devotion of the entire Chopra family on many occasions.“Priyaji, why does a man come and suffer in this world, and why does he wish to come again and again when there is so much of suffering here?”Baba thereafter looked at the portraits of Shri Nathji in the big satsang hall and saw one which gripped his heart instantly–it was the portrait taken by Julian Rust in Mussoorie in the 1930’s. None of the other devotees had even noticed this portrait in the midst of the large number of portraits in the room.“I have no doubts in my mind that Shri Nathji is God! My heart yearns to do something for Him!”His fiancé, Simran, who was a girl of remarkable intelligence, narrated many episodes in which she felt the living presence of Shri Nathji helping her and guiding her.
