In his speech, Priya Nath recounted Shri Nathji’s reception in the lawyers’ Bar Room at Akola, Maharashtra in 1951.“This garland is not a garland of honour, for honour is meant for the honourable judges; this garland is not a garland of respect – for respect is meant for the elders; this garland is not one of reverence either – for reverence is meant for priests and Pandits. And saying this, he placed the garland around Shri Nathji’s neck.“Jis Bhagwan ko aapne mujh men dekh kar ye haar paihnaaya hai – main ussee Bhagwan ko aap sab men dekh kar apne dil ke haar paihnaa rahaa hoon!“You have placed this garland upon me on seeing God within me. I see the same God within you all and place the garlands of my heart on you!”There was thunderous applause at Sapru House as there had been thunderous applause at Akola.
