While speaking of dogs, Shri Nathji would recall the time when a certain rich seth, Shri B.D. Meattle, had come to see him in Mussoorie in the 1950’s. He had become so depressed by his financial problems and domestic turmoil that he was on the verge of suicide. He came to Shri Nathji along with his servants, who had two large Alsatian dogs on leash.“Maharaj! Main jeenaa chaahataa hoonIt was only Shri Nathji who was capable of bringing peace to the hearts of the most forlorn of souls.“Sethji, aapke paas to itnaa paisaa hai aap ko to sone ki chhatten lagaani chaahiyen thheen!Shri Nathji would narrate these words of Maharaja Sarila to Mateshwari and Pran Nath and Priya Nath at Mussoorie, and would break out into a long infectious laughter, as was his wont!
