Shri Nathji had written in his books that since the world was imperfect–apoorna–it could not understand one who was perfect–poorna. But if someone imperfect came into the world, the people of the world would call him perfect, because he would be like them. Thus it was that pearls remained hidden from the common view in the depths of the ocean.“Heere kee paihchaan jauhari ko hee ho sakti hai. Agar lauhaar bhee heere ko paihchaanne lage to vo heeraa heeraa hee naheen ho saktaa.“Only a jeweller can recognize a diamond. If even a blacksmith were to call a stone a diamond, then it is likely that the stone would not turn out to be a diamond.”Shri Nathji would also say:“Jauhari ki dukaan par bheerren naheen huaa karteen!“There are no crowds in a jeweller’s shop!”Shri Nathji used the example of the diamond to describe the state of faith of a devotee. He would say:“Maine aapko ek crore kaa heeraa diyaa, aur aapko vishwaas aa gayaa ke vo ek crore ka heeraa hai–to aap crorepati ban gaye.“I give you a diamond and tell you that it is worth one crore. You believe me, and thus become a crorepati, a millionaire.”“Magar agar ek din aapkaa man aapko baihkaa detaa hai, yaa koyi doosraa aakar aapko baihkaa detaa hai, ke ye heeraa naheen, kaanch hai. Aur aap uski baat ko maan lete hain, to heeraa to heeraa hee rahaa magar aap crorepati naheen rahe!“Then, one day, your own mind, or someone else, tells you that it is not a diamond, but a piece of glass, and you believe in it. The net result will be that the diamond will remain a diamond but you will cease to be millionaire!”“Doubt, devil, decay and death are the same!”“I give you a diamond and you throw it away. Someone else finds it in the dust and takes it home and becomes rich.”Once again in the night there is Shri Nathji’s ghazal:Vo aa gayaa, vo aa gayaa, vo aa gayaa hai vo,He has come, he has come, he has come, indeed,
