There is another of Shri Nathji’s lilting ghazals which Shri Nathji greatly enjoys. Priya Nath has given it a qawwaalli style tune:“Sharaabe bekhudi lekar,Which refers to the state of intoxication of one lost in God Realisation where self-forgetfulness accompanies a divine wine and a divine awareness.Mubaarik ho jahaan vaalo ki iss hasti kaa aanaa haiGood Tidings to all, on the coming of this Being upon earth,And Shri Nathji’s favourite:Jee kafas men lag gayaa apnaa chaman se bhee sivaaMy heart has been so enamoured of the cage, away form the garden, It is the song of joy of a bird which has been entrapped in a cage by a Hunter, but who reconciles itself to the cage and forgets about freedom altogether. Such is the state of one who accepts everything as a measure of the Divine Will.
