And, once again, as in the years past, there is the familiar scene of Priya Nath concluding the function with Shri Nathji’s ghazals on the piano. Har kaum ke labon par har mulk ki zubaan parOn the lips of all the nations, the tongues of all the racesPriya Nath then plays another ghazal heralding the approach of an era of peace in the world:Chiraage noore vaihdat phir chamak utthe zamaane menMay the lamp of unity burn again in the world,And finally the ghazal of Shri Nathji that explains the secret of life upon earth:Jee kafas men lag gayaa apnaa chaman se bhee sivaaThe cage has so entranced my heart, far away from the garden,What gladdened Priya Nath’s heart most was the welcoming group of ‘shaihnaayi’ players that had heralded Shri Nathji’s entry into Sapru House, and that now bade Him farewell as He left the hall, to return home, in a spirit of great triumph.“Zaraa naam tak bhee thhakaavat naheen huyi!Priya Nath embraced Shri Nathji again and again after they had returned home. And Shri Nathji patted him on the back with the words: “All this is due to your care! Good luck to you! Good luck to you! May you, I and Pran live long! May you live long! May you live long!”
