Shri Nathji asks for mooli-radish and kheeraa-cucumber which L.R. Khanna had brought during the day and Priya Nath goes into the kitchen to prepare it for Shri Nathji. Even as he is cutting the vegetables, he suddenly hears Shri Nathji calling out to him:“PRIYAJI!”He runs out of the kitchen and goes to Shri Nathji. Shri Nathji is not well, but he does not wish to alarm Priya Nath and says:“Aise hee“It is probably gas, but appears to be a suffocating feeling. There is some difficulty in breathing. Should I take a Sorbitrate?”Priya Nath is alarmed and gives Shri Nathji a tablet of Isordil – which is the equivalent of half a tablet of Sorbitrate – under the tongue. He also gives a tablet of Deriphyllin. The feeling subsides after about five minutes.“Subah se kayi baar aisaa “ I had been having such feelings off and on since the morning but had not been telling you for fear of worrying you!”Priya Nath measures Shri Nathji’s blood pressure which is 150/70 and normal. His pulse rate is 58. It is most distressing to him that the suffocation has returned, after being dormant for so long. It is the one thing that Priya Nath had dreaded most during these days.
