On an impulse, Shri Nathji asks Priya Nath about the attitude of the American President Bush towards India on the question of the sale of Russian rockets to India for use for satellites. Shri Nathji wonders why Bush is vexed and what his intentions are towards India. He says:“Pataa naheen Bush ki mati ko kyaa ho gayaa hai. Uski baat samajh men naheen aayi. Kyaa kaihtaa hai“I wonder what has come over Bush. I can’t understand what he means. What is he saying to India? Purchase rockets from America rather than from Russia? Or does he want India to give in writing that it won’t use the rockets for bombs?”Priya Nath explains to Shri Nathji that Bush is worried about India acquiring rocket technology from Russia and using it for nuclear bombs – and wants India to sign a treaty that it will not make bombs for the rockets, in which case America will be prepared to supply rocket technology to India directly – or else it will attack India!Shri Nathji laughs loudly saying:“Bush hamlon par tayyaar huaa lagtaa hai!“Bush appears to be bent upon waging war!”Shri Nathji had in the past frequently praised the American President George H. Bush in 1992, referring to his gesture in 1991 in responding to Shri Nathji’s appeal for a World Prayer Day for Peace – how George Bush had especially asked the American Ambassador in India to take his letter of appreciation to Shri Nathji by hand, which was brought over by the Embassy staff car to Shri Nathji’s house.“Jab kissee aadmi ki kissee baat par gussaa aaye to uski achhee baaten yaad kar leni chahiyen. Gussaa gaayab ho jayegaa!“Whenever you are filled with anger at any action of any person, then recollect the good things he has done, and your anger will be gone!”Shri Nathji was not angry with Bush, but rather amused at his bullying attitude towards smaller nations.
