Shri Nathji narrates the parable of the man sentenced to be hanged, who had only two hours left of life and who begins dancing with joy, saying: “Doosron ki to pataa naheen kab tak zindagi hai – mere to do ghante nishchit hain!“Other people do not know how long they have to live – but I have two certain hours of life. Why should I not enjoy them?”There was Shri Nathji’s verse that illustrated the theme of man’s temporary existence upon the planet earth:“Ai shamaa umr tabeyi teri hai ik raat,“O Flame, thy life is limited to but one night,Shri Nathji would add:“Rokar kaun guzaartaa hai? Jis kaa sambandh sirf iss vishwa ke nashwar padaarthhon se hai! Aur hans kar kaun guzaartaa hai? Jis ka sambandh iss duniyaa se hi naheen balki iss duniyaa ke banaane vaale se bhee ho chukaa hai!“Who is the person that spends his life in tears? One who has established a relationship with only the perishable objects of the world. And who is the person who spends his life in happiness? One who has established a relationship not only with this world, but also with the Creator of this world!”Shri Nathji goes on to say:“HAMAARAA TO JISM HEE CHAMATKAAR SE CHAL RAHAA HAI!“Ye meraa shareer bhautik shareer naheen hai! Ye aapki bhaavnaaon kaa shareer hai!Shri Nathji had often said that God came down upon earth in human form only for the sake of those who earnestly yearned for Him – and His body was recognized as that of God Incarnate only by those who had prayed to Him and had devotion in Him. It was the devotion of the devotees that was personified in the human body of the Avatar.
