On the 7th of October 1941, in the early hours of the morning at 3:30 am, even as the sounds of drums came from the nearby Mosque at the end of the Muslim rozaas, Mateshwari gave birth to a second child.
The babe was as beautiful as the sun and he was later called Priya Nath. Dr. Miss Buck of Mussoorie delivered him. Yet another seeking soul had reached Shri Nathji as his son. Ram Rattan Khanna who happened to be in Mussoorie at the time saw the babe and said: Oh, he is simply wonderful!
Mateshwari had become very weak after giving birth to the child and for a while was very seriously ill with practically no medical aid in Mussoorie. She often said that she had almost died at the time of Priya Nath’s birth. It was Shri Nathji’s Divine Power that had saved her.
Yet, Shri Nathji and Mateshwari continued to stay on in the wilderness of the hills rather than go to their own house at Dehra Dun.
News had reached Dehra Dun of the birth of the second son of Shri Nathji, and Jagatmata came straightaway to Mussoorie to see the child and to bless him. The moment she cast her eyes upon Priya Nath she said:
Ye Babaji phir aa gaye! Babaji has come again!
Priya Nath was born about ten months after the going away of Shri Babaji Maharaj.
As Jagatmata fondled the child in her arms she made a prophecy:
Inki jeebaah kitni lambee hai! In jaisaa bolne vaalaa koyi naheen hogaa!
“Look at the long tongue he has! No on shall be able his equal in oration!
“Inki jeebaah par to swayam Saraswati kaa nivaas hai! The goddess of learning, Saraswati, herself resides on his tongue!
These were the blessings that Shri Priya Nath acquired from birth from one of the greatest mothers of the time, his holy grandmother Jagatmata. Her words were to ring out to be true, for in the years that followed, all who heard Priya Nath experienced this power of his tongue. People would stand in hypnotised silence just listening to his words, and, in later years, Priya Nath was to be instrumental in spreading Shri Nathji’s mission far and wide, after Shri Nathji had left the planet earth.
Shri Sahadeva, the loyal devotee of Shri Nathji, often recollected how Shri Nathji used to tell him before the birth of his children: Tibet ki taraf se do roohen aa rahee hain! Two souls are coming this way from the regions of Tibet!
Priya Nath was actually the name given to the child by Lala Hargopal, who had said instantly upon seeing him: “Hello, Mr.Priya Nath!” His real name as found in his astrological charts was Chaitanya. Some thought he was the incarnation of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu the legendary saint of Bengal.
In contrast to Pran Nath, Priya Nath was physically weak and a shade darker in complexion. He was also frequently ill.
Mateshwari always rued the fact in later years that she had not been able to give proper breast-feeding to Priya Nath because she had been so ill after giving birth to him.
