Shri Nathji knew that this would be his last visit to Lahore and that he would never be returning there again.
He had been there early in 1914 and 1918 with Shri Babaji Maharaj, and then in 1928, and later in 1935, when he had brought Shri Babaji Maharaj to Lahore and had begun to live there.
His marriage had taken place in the city on the 7th of May 1939. His first son Pran Nath had been born in Lahore on the 22nd of February 1940.
Shri Babaji Maharaj had mingled into his Universal Form at Lahore on the 13th of December 1940.
Thereafter Shri Nathji had left Lahore in 1940 and had gone there only four years later in the winter of December 1944, and had stayed there till March 1945.
On this, his last visit to the city, he had come in November 1946, and he stayed there over the fateful winter months of January, February 1947, and March 1947.
The year 1947 was to be an ugly year for India. It was the year in which the greatest torments of man were to be unleashed on the nation, and thousands were to die in the fire of partition that divided the country.
