Shri Nathji often said that such indeed was the mood of a God disposed generously towards His erring children that His Justice was His Mercy and His Grace gave amnesty from all sins. But one had to provide Him with an excuse to use His Grace.
Shri Nathji would often say to people, and more specifically to the doctors, lawyers, dentists, businessmen, etc., who saw him purely for professional reasons, that circumstances had provided them with an opportunity to serve God. It was the excuse that God sought, to bring them to higher spiritual regions. He would frequently quote the verse:
Raihmate Haq bahaa nami joyad,
Raihmate Haq bahaanaa mijoyad!
The grace of God does not ask for a price
It seeks an excuse to come.
