A neighbour, Major Murghai, passes away. Shri Nathji had frequently spoken to him in the past whenever he met him on the road outside, and once at his home. He was a brave man who had suffered several heart attacks and had finally died while arguing a case in the Supreme Court against his enemies. “Beemaari aur kachairee kissee ko naa aaye!”“Illness and Litigation are the bane of one’s exstence.”Shri Nathji and Priya Nath go outside the house and walk on the bounding road, which leads to the house of Major Murghai to give their condolences and blessings to Mrs. Murghai. The inmates of the house have kept a chair for Shri Nathji and sit on the ground. Shri Nathji speaks softly in a touching and emotional tone:“My blessings have gone with him and he is at Peace, you can be assured of that!” Shri Nathji speaks to Mrs. Murghai and narrates the episode of his meeting with Sir Sultan Ahmed, the member of the Executive Council of the Viceroy.
