There is the constant problem of salt intake – on which Priya Nath and Shri Nathji argue perpetually. Even the doctors do not give a clear-cut picture. Whenever Priya Nath increases the salt intake, Shri Nathji’s urine volume falls, the stream becomes thin and weak, and his weight goes up insidiously suggesting water retention. And whenever the salt intake is reduced, Shri Nathji feels weak in the hot month of August and the food becomes unpalatable.
