Shri Nathji and Mateshwari remained in Mussoorie for two and a half months, during which time they celebrated the birthday of Shri Nathji on the 23rd of June 1960 as in the years past. By mid-July they were seen in a train bound for Allahabad again. Their tryst with Mussoorie was becoming shorter and shorter with the passage of time. Mateshwari was getting to like the life of the plains more than the lonely life at Mussoorie. Mateshwari had been born and bred in a large city like Lahore. She had always said in Punjabi:“Raheeye shaihar bhaaven hove kair“Live in a City even though it be a blight”She had not forgotten the revolver attack upon Shri Nathji at Mussoorie in broad daylight. Indeed the lonely atmosphere of the hills was conducive to such incidents. She had seen the great effort that Shri Nathji had to go through to look after her in her illness in a place where medical aid was so scarce.
