It is Dussehra, October 2, 1987, the festival depicting the defeat of Ravana, the living epitome of evil, at the hands of Rama, the living epitome of righteousness. “‘Rama’ can be read as ‘Even as Shri Nathji concludes his sermon, ‘Ravana’ – the spectre of evil is burnt in all the Ram Lilas in the country, in effigy form.“Meraa virodh shareeron se naheen hai!”“Evil is spelled as E-v-i-l, but read it backwards and it becomes ‘Live’! Evil says one must ‘live’ – but where? There is only sorrow and suffering in Evil – so Evil points to ‘Good’ and says, one must ‘live’ in ‘good’. “Darkness itself says one must seek Light! When man goes to ‘good’, he escapes evil and its consequences, but is filled with pride that he is ‘good’ and better than others! “He must humble himself, and think of himself as a zero before God. When you take away a zero – or ‘0’ – from Good, it becomes ‘God’! You thus reach God!”“When you annihilate your ego you become like a zero before God, who is like One, and He converts you into Ten!”
