Shri Nathji is on the verge of finishing his 100th ghazal notebook at the beginning of December, and, by the end of the month, has completed his 101st Ghazal book– which, he says, has very “catchy” ghazals–and has already begun his 102nd ghazal notebook. “Aastaan pe tere aaye daastaane gham liye”“We have come to Thy Door bringing a tale of woe”The eight-ghazal cassette has sides A and B as follows, each running into 45 minutes:SIDE A(1)We have come to Thy door bringing our tale of woe(2)Who can I call a stranger now that everything is known(3)Look upon that Glorious Face in this world(4)People ask of me, where is the Saaki, and where the tavernSIDE B(1)In this Tavern of my life, thou must come again and again(2)Thy light has flashed forth in this world today(3)Come within my eyes, O Thou Beautiful Face that captures the Heart(4)Let Him, who is a sign without a sign, come within my heartThere is another beautiful ghazal that Shri Nathji dictates and Priya Nath records, which has a depth of spirituality contained in it:“Ham hain jahaan ke andar too laa- makaan sahi“We live in this world, but Thou art beyond Space,Shri Nathji lovingly explains to Priya Nath that ““An Avatar is limited and unlimited at the same time. Even when he appears as a human bound by Space and Time, His Real Infinite Self exists side by side in the vastness of the universe. He is like the Ray of the Sun which reveals the Sun, or like the wave on the surface of the ocean which reveals the ocean.”Shri Nathji had used another example to explain the finite and infinite nature of the avatar:“Look at an empty glass. It contains air. The air is the same air which exists everywhere in the form of the atmosphere. The air inside the glass is limited while the air outside is unlimited. When the glass breaks, the air inside it mingles with the vast expanse of the atmosphere outside! The glass is the body of the avatar. Inside the body of the avatar is the same Universal Soul that resides everywhere in the Universe.” The avatar exists as a limited human shape while at the same time existing everywhere in the Universe as the Universal Soul.“When the body disappears, the soul inside, mingles into its real essence outside, which is the Universal Soul, the finite merges into the infinite.”
