Most of the first two weeks of July are spent in discussing Pran Nathji’s future. Shri Nathji loves him and goes to his room every morning to pat him on his head with a loving voice saying: “Paanji! Paanji!”“He is like Rama – living in exile at the asking of his Father, Dasrath,” Shri Nathji says.Shri Nathji is loathe to send Pran Nath back to London, but knows of the many responsibilities Pran Nath has there. He is also worried about Pran Nath’s deteriorating health in the hot climate of Delhi and his being cooped up in his room for days on end. “Both Priyaji and I are very sad today!“Ham donon bahut udaas ho gaye hain aaj!”Shri Nathji tells Mangla to maintain Pranji’s room in exactly the condition it is – so that whenever he returns he shall find things as he left them.
