Shri Nathji has a rattling sound in his throat from mucus, and coughs slightly. Priya Nath has a premonition that this could be serious. He shifts his focus of worry to the rattle and cough, and very soon begins arguing with Shri Nathji as to why this new development had to take place. He says in a distraught manner:“Roz kuchh nayi cheez aa jaati hai. Ek cheez hat tee hai to doosri aa jaati hai!“Every day some new problem arises. One problem is barely over when another creeps in.”Shri Nathji says:“Ye kyaa cheez hai? Aadmi koyi iron ka thhorraa banaa hota hai! Ye to kuchh bhee naheen hai. Itnee to achhee Health huyi huyi hai!“This is nothing! After all a man is not made of iron. This is absolutely nothing. The health has become so very good.”At 2:52 am Shri Nathji lies in bed, trying to sleep. Priya Nath records his last prayer for the night:“O Lord, Please remove this dreadful rattle from Pitaji’s throat!”For some reason Priya Nath becomes very worried about the mucus that is coming from within the chest. He had not forgotten the winter of 1989 when Shri Nathji’s cough had begun with a similar rattle, which had later turned out to be pneumonitis. Shri Nathji’s heart was too fragile now to bear the strain of repeated coughing. This was the greatest fear in the mind of Priya Nath.
