Shri Nathji was a vegetarian himself, though he did not advocate vegetarianism for others. He frequently quoted Christ on the subject: ‘What matters is not that which goes into you, but that which comes out of you! A man could eat vegetables and do all manner of evil, while another could be a meat-eater and lead a righteous life. But Shri Nathji had such a great love for all living creatures, that it was unthinkable to imagine him eating meat in any form. There were times when he was seen picking up little insects to save them from drowning in the bathroom sink.
