Smt. Tara Buty sent a cook from Nagpur to attend to Shri Nathji’s cooking, but the man turned out to be very arrogant and difficult in temperament. The more polite that Shri Nathji and Priya Nath became with him, the more intimidating did the man’s attitude become. He had mistaken Shri Nathji’s gentleness for fear, and began to think that everyone in the house was afraid of him.
One day matters got so much out of hand that he resorted to violence and came to blows with Brij Mohan, another servant in the house. He had to be simply dismissed from service. When Tara Buty heard of the behaviour of the servant at Shri Nathji’s home she wept for days. Indeed, most of the servants that Shri Nathji kept, became emboldened by Shri Nathji’s love and affection for them.
