Shri Nathji often described the buffetings of fate with the following example.
A potter thumps with one hand on the clay that he is trying to mould into a pot. To outer appearances it seems that he is beating the clay to destroy it. But the fact is that he is trying to make a beautiful shape out of it.
And if the thumping of the clay with one hand appears to be harsh, then you can see his other hand inside the vessel giving it support from inside.
As Shri Nathji would say:
“Agar kumhaar ek haathh se matti ko thhapkaartaa hai to doosre haath se usse andar se sahaaraa detaa hai!”
If the troubles that come to you in life are in accordance with His Divine Laws and the law of Karma, and you have to endure them, then remember that He places His comforting hand within you and softens the blows of the harsh chastisement. If He makes you fall with one hand, he saves you from hurt with the other.
