With the sending of the children to school in Mussoorie, Shri Nathji’s life style took on a new turn altogether. To outer appearances it was as if Shri Nathji were leading a life suited only to the education of the children. The schools in Mussoorie would open every year in March and would close after nine months by the 20th of November.
Thus Shri Nathji and Mateshwari and the children remained in Mussoorie for nine months of each year in the years that followed. In December, January and February every year they would be seen in the plains. The solititude of the mountains was to be followed by the hectic meetings with the devotees who came for his darshan in the plains. Of these devotees only very few could come to Mussoorie due to the inadequate facilities of travel.
As the months wore on at Shadi Bhavan with Shri Nathji and Mateshwari and the children leading an austere life, problems arose with the tenancy, and Shri Nathji had to quit the house for a while.
Towards September 1945, Shri Nathji had shifted temporarily to his house at Dehra Dun. Priya Nath’s birthday was celebrated there by Shri Nathji with great enthusiasm on the 7th of October. Shri Nathji gave a tea-party and dressed elegantly for the occasion in a black shervaani, white chooridars, and sparkling golden turban. He gave his darshan and blessings to the people of Dehra Dun after a long time and they were beholden on seeing him in their midst once again.
