Shri Nathji would often narrate this parable:
“There is a mother who is going to a party. She is dressed in an exceptionally beautiful and expensive saree. Her child falls into a mud puddle just as she is about to depart for the party. She hears his cries.
“Does she think of her expensive saree at the time? Or of the fact that the child has been exceptionally naughty? No, such thoughts don’t even cross her mind. Her love for her child is so overpowering that she rushes instantly and lifts him up from the mud and holds her to her breast to calm him.
“Such is the love of a mother for her child, a love in which she will accept him even with the mud smeared on him.
“So if that is the love of a mother for her child, how much greater will be the love of God for man! Yes, God will accept a man even with all his sins if the man genuinely calls out to him!”
