Justice B.P.Sinha, who later became Chief Justice of India, was a friend of Justice Raghubar Dayal. He used to visit Shri Nathji’s residence at Mussoorie frequently and listen to his sermons with rapt attention.
Justice Sinha would say to people:
“It is impossible to describe the peace and bliss one feels just sitting before Shri Nathji. You can only experience it!”
Once Shri Nathji was on the Mall Road when it began to rain. Justice B. P. Sinha happened to be passing by. He had an umbrella in his hand, and he rushed towards Shri Nathji with it. But much before he could reach Shri Nathji, a youthful shopkeeper in the area caught up with Shri Nathji and placed his umbrella over his head. Justice B. P. Sinha was crest-fallen. Old age had robbed him of speed, as well as an opportunity to serve Shri Nathji.
For a while Shri Nathji took shelter in a shop and then decided to proceed home to Savitri Nivas. Justice B. P. Sinha took the opportunity and prayed that he be allowed to walk Shri Nathji home. It was thus that he held his umbrella over Shri Nathji and walked up the steep slope to be at Shri Nathji’s residence.
Once inside, Shri Nathji’s words bathed his heart and flooded his soul.
Justice Sinha, Shri Nathji said, you prevented me from getting wet in the rain outside with your umbrella. But I am drenching you with my words here, where it is dry!
On another occasion, Justice B. P. Sinha sat before Shri Nathji at his residence in Mussoorie, and looked continually at the door as Shri Nathji spoke.
Justice Sinha, Shri Nathji said, in a light vein, you have been turning to look at the door every few minutes. Is anything the matter?
Yes, said Justice B. P. Sinha, time is slipping by. These are precious moments. I had wished that my relatives, and in particular my son-in-law, daamaad, have your darshan. I keep looking at the door in the hope he will arrive before you finish talking!
It appears that he has come, said Shri Nathji, as Justice B. P. Sinha’s daamaad entered the house just then. Justice B.P.Sinha was impressed by the sudden appearance of his daamaad the moment he mentioned his name before Shri Nathji. It appeared as if Shri Nathji had heard his prayers almost instantly. It was yet another miracle of Shri Nathji. Shri Nathji was greatly touched by Justice Sinha’s wish to give his relatives a part of the bliss and peace he was experiencing.
