While Shri Nathji was living at Malik Nagar, a historic event was taking place at Akola. On the 29th of December 1951, the devotees of Akola celebrated the ‘Aagman Divas’ of Shri Nathji, the anniversary of Shri Nathji’s arrival in Akola.
It was exactly one year earlier, on the 29th of December 1950, that Shri Nathji had set foot upon the soil of Akola. For the devotees there it was a very special day – a day when God in human form had chosen them as his own. On the day of the celebration of the anniversary on December 29, 1951, all the devotees present at Akola felt the living presence of Shri Nathji.
It was also on that day that the devotees began a historic “Shayyiyaa Poojan” – worship with religious rites – of the bed, on which Shri Nathji had slept at the home of Shri W.A. Sohni. It was a worship that was to continue for many years in the future till the last days of Shri Sohni on earth.
These devotees had realised the worth of the bed – it was a piece of furniture made sacred by the human form of God.
