Shri Nathji had later met Dr. Radhakrishnan again when he was the Vice Chancellor of Benaras University. Shri Nathji was visiting the University at the invitation of its founder, Shri Madan Mohan Malviya, who he had met at Dehra Dun in a nursing home.
Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya had been so astonished at the divine beauty of Shri Nathji that he had said at the time that Shri Nathji entered his room in the Nursing Home at Dehra Dun:
“Aahaa! Aahaa! Aisi moorti kahaan banti hai, kahaan banti hai!
Karrorron janmon ke apne punya udai hon, aur karrorron janmon ke maataa pitaa ke punya udai hon, tab aisee moorti banti hai!
“Ahaa! Ahaa! Where can one find such an image as yours! It is only the fruit of the good actions of millions of ages, of one’s own self, as well as the fruit of the good actions of millions of ages of one’s parents that can produce such a personality!”
Shri Nathji had spoken an Urdu verse at the time which touched Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya so deeply to the heart that he recorded it in his notebook. It was a verse Shri Nathji had written when he was very young:
Jo ghaafil vasl men hokar talaashe vasl men daurre
Bhalaa hadd hai uski doori ki va andaazaa ho hijraan kaa
The ignorant man who being in Union runs after Union–
How immeasurable his distance, and how unfathomable his separation!
The great intellectuals of the time, like Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya and Dr. Radhakrishnan, appreciated Shri Nathji from the head as well as the heart.
Dr. Radhakrishnan was attending a meeting at the time when Shri Nathji arrived at the Benaras Hindu University. He immediately left the meeting and rushed to meet Shri Nathji.
