Indermani, the wife of Shri Devki Nandan, had a faith in Shri Nathji that surpassed even the faith of her husband. She had always remained silent, as was the custom amongst women during those days, while her husband remained in the forefront in serving Shri Nathji.
She had cooked for Mateshwari at Dehra Dun during the years 1939 to 1942 and for her those moments of her service to the Lord were the most precious earnings of her life. She was convinced her husband, Shri Devki Nandan, had been granted salvation by Shri Nathji.
In a letter she had written to Shri Nathji after the passing away of Devki Nandan, she had said:

“Raghuvar tumko meri laaj
Nath Prabhu tum ko meri laaj
Tum barre gareeb navaaz”

O Lord, I am under Thy protection,
O Nath Prabhu, I am under Thy protection
Thou art the preserver of the poor.”

She also wrote to Mateshwari saying:

“Raiham karen, Radheji! Aapki kripaa se hee ham log paar ho sakte hain!

“Have Mercy on us! O Radheji! It is only through thy grace that we can be saved.”
