The crowds that came to greet Shri Nathji at Chanda Railway Station were large and unprecedented. Men, women and children, the old and the infirm, the rich and the poor, had gathered there to welcome the Lord of the Universe to their land.
Shri Popat Lal who had been bed-ridden and ailing since a long time, got up from his bed to the great surprise of his relatives and doctors, and walked to the Railway Station to put a garland of flowers on Shri Nathji. The very thought of his arrival was enough to cure many a sick person who left his sick-bed and came to the Railway Station for a glimpse of Shri Nathji
Chanda was flooded with a divine bliss that was unparalleled. Wherever Shri Nathji went, the Glory of his Light radiated like a sun in full brightness. Many a person swooned and collapsed at this divine vision. Everyone was experiencing God in Shri Nathji. People could not withhold their tears and burst out crying like children. The cries of “Bhagwan Bhola Nathji kee Jai” rent the atmosphere of the city.
A large number of women, elderly as well as young, had come to the railway station to welcome Mateshwari. When the people discovered that Mateshwari was not with Shri Nathji their sorrow was unimaginable. The homes of many persons in Chanda had photographs of Mateshwari and Shri Nathji in the dress of Radhe and Krishna. It was unthinkable for them to think of Krishna without Radhe.
Shri Nathji explained that he was bringing her blessings to them and that she was with him in her invisible form and showering her blessings upon them.
Popat Lal and L.G. Hathi were friends since long. They now shared with them a faith that had changed their entire lives. A new life had entered into them ever since they had met Shri Nathji, a new zest for living possessed them.
It was a wonder that no one wanted anything from Shri Nathji. They were so lost in the bliss of seeing him that they forgot their own selves. All petty troubles and problems and illnesses were forgotten in the surge of divine bliss that everyone felt in his or her heart. It was as if the world did not exist and there was only God.
They wished that Shri Nathji stay with them forever, that he never leave Chanda. But Shri Nathji had to leave in accordance with his divine plan.
After showering his divine bliss on the residents of the town for three days, during which his divine voice flooded the hearts of all, Shri Nathji made ready to proceed to Rajamundry.
He told the people of Chanda that he was leaving himself behind in their hearts and that they would hear his voice speak to them even after he was gone.
The people of Chanda were in tears. He had stayed with them for barely three days but they felt as if he had always been there. Separation from him was unbearable. People were in tears. Even those who had met Shri Nathji for the first time could not bear the thought of separation from him. He was the soul of every soul in the Universe. Many pleaded with Shri Nathji to come back via the same route so that they would have the opportunity to have his darshan again. The darshan of Shri Nathji left an insatiable appetite for more and more. It was not an appetite that could ever be satiated. Indeed love for the infinite had to be of infinite dimensions.
There were many who boarded the train along with Shri Nathji when he made ready to go to Rajamundry on the night of March 13, 1949. Vallabh Bhai was amongst the Chanda devotees who chronicled Shri Nathji’s tour in those regions and wrote to Mateshwari at Allahabad.
