As Shri Nathji continued to stay on at Calcutta, Shri Babaji Maharaj sent telegrams to Shri Nathji urging him to come to Lahore for the delivery of Mateshwari’s child, but the devotees of Calcutta would not let Shri Nathji go.
Mr. and Mrs. Khera would threaten to jump off the roof of the house if Shri Nathji spoke of leaving.
Shri Nathji had finally to chide them for their obstinacy, and agreed to return to Calcutta another time. At Calcutta station, the devotees stood around Shri Nathji, weeping, while he spoke to them, placating them. Mateshwari stood on the platform tired and thirsty.
Such, indeed, was the price Shri Nathji and Mateshwari had to pay for the over-zealous ardour of some of their devotees who ignored their comfort and well-being.
