But as the days wear on, Shri Nathji’s health begins to deteriorate, and he has sensations of syncope-dizziness – as if he were going to fall down. He has a large swelling on his feet. These are serious symptoms as Priya Nath knows and he remains very, very close to Shri Nathji each time that he gets up and walks. However, for the greater part, Shri Nathji chooses to ignore these symptoms, and no doctor is consulted for them, nor can any doctor give a straightforward answer because they themselves do not know why the symptoms are coming.“Since the morning Pitaji had one cup of rice, a little paneer, one cup of dahi, one phulka, a few odd potatoes, one glass of orange juice – and now, in the evening, one small ‘chappaati’ of basin, and onions etc., plus a few thin potato chips, and about half a glass tea with Bournvita added.”Shri Nathji and Priya Nath sit in the driveway behind the Standard car in the sunshine and Priya Nath takes snapshots of the scene.
