On Basant Panchami, which was supposed to herald the end of winter, Shri Nathji quotes the Punjabi saying:“Aayee Basant, Paale Urrant!”“Basant has come and the dew has flown!”But, on observing the persisting cold, Shri Nathji adds, humorously:“On this Basant, however, it appears, “Aayee basant, paale parrant!“Basant has come, and the dew is falling!”Shri Nathji had often said to people on Basant in the days past: “Basant means ‘Bas’-‘ant’, meaning the end of sorrows!
