Saturday, June 3, 1989 was one of the most horrible days of June. Priya Nath had a premonition from the morning that something bad was going to happen, even though the day began on a cheerful note with a letter from the Secretary General of the United Nations, Javier Perez De Cuellar. The Secretary General lauded the World Prayer Day stating that it gave him tremendous encouragement, and thanking and honouring Shri Nathji.“Chakkar saa aa rahaa hai!“I am feeling dizzy!”He sits down hurriedly in his arm-chair in the bedroom, which is adjacent to the bathroom door – and within seconds, becomes unconscious, faints, and vomits. “Aapko ttheek hee raihnaa chahiye. Agar aap ttheek naheen rahe to ham logon kaa kyaa hogaa!“You must remain well always. If you do not remain well, what will become of us?”All through the evening and night, Priya Nath keeps asking Shri Nathji whether he is feeling well, and Shri Nathji invariably replies:“Sab ttheek hai! Itnaa naa worry kiya karo!“Everything is all right! Don’t worry so much!”It was astonishing that though such a great incident had occurred Shri Nathji was neither worried nor afraid, and continued with his work as if nothing had happened.“What a sad inauguration of the month of June. Maybe we should cancel the World Prayer Day function!”Shri Nathji immediately says with great emphasis:“Naheen“No, there is no question of cancelling the function. Such inauspicious things must not even be thought of. We will celebrate the birthday with great joy. The episode occurred just like that.”Shri Nathji won’t hear of cancelling the World Prayer Day coming on the 23rd of June. He is the bravest person upon earth.“Fresh Air “We don’t even allow fresh air to come in. The weather is also bad.”Indeed, Shri Nathji and Priya Nath remained in the stuffy atmosphere of the room, with all the windows closed, because of the air conditioner, which, too, worked only erratically.
