Later, I wept at Pitaji’s feet and on His lap, saying He should let me die rather than make me see Him suffocate before me:“Hamen maar daalo, magar vo“Let me die, but never let me see the scene which existed at Dr. Kaushal’s time!”Pitaji said brightly, and curtly:“Piyaji, vo kahaan ki baaten kar rahe ho! Kuchh bhee to naheen hai! Vo to bilkul aur cheez thhee!“Piyaji, what are you saying! This is nothing! That was an entirely different thing!”My Dear, Dear, Pitaji lost no opportunity to cheer me up, no matter how dreadful the suffering He endured on His gentle body.“Akele mat bhejna usse vahaan!“Don’t send him alone over there!”When I suggest that all the persons must remain in the house, now that He is ill, Pitaji says:“Agar samajhte ho usski zaroorat hai yahaan to mat bhejo – vaise to kuchh hai naheen!“If you think he is required here you may not send him. But there is nothing wrong with me.”O Dear, Dear, Lord, we have endured enough suffering over these past few months –and cannot endure more. Please help us and save me. O Lord – a respite – a respite – please save us and help us. I seek refuge in Thee! – AMEN.“Piyaji daant de do!“Piyaji give me the dentures!”Pitaji continues talking to me:“Laanaa to ab parregaa heeAnd He adds:“Roti to barri bhook se khaayi. Aaj shaam ko usskaa buraa asar yaad naheen. Magar roti honi chahiye – tthos cheez honi chahiye. Pet kharaab rahaa. Shaam ko to yaad naheen kab liyaa, kab khaayaa.“I had eaten the ‘roti’ with a good appetite. I do not recollect any ill effects from it in the evening. But it should be a ‘roti’ – it should be solid. My stomach was upset. I do not recollect when I ate in the evening.”Pitaji again feels that it is the new antibiotic that has upset His stomach, which was the cause of the suffocation attacks.
