Priya Nath had been angry with the devotees for their lackadaisical attitude towards devotion in 2002. He had been angry with some of them in particular for foisting their illnesses upon Shri Nathji. “Keep these garlands with yourselves all your lives!”The devotees were totally overwhelmed, and many had tears in their eyes, even as they wore the garlands around their necks. Some wished to take the garlands for those who were not present on the occasion, but Priya Nath told them that those who had absented themselves should come personally to be garlanded by him, as there was no joy in being garlanded by proxy.
