Shri Nathji indulges in one of his favourite pastimes, removing the rings on his fingers and exchanging them with other rings kept by Priya Nath in a small cardboard box. Most of these rings date back to Shri Nathji’s marriage in 1939. “Ye ttheek hai, Piyaji, yaa paihlee “Is this one all right, Piyaji, or was the first one better?” Shri Nathji also points to a very old ring that Mateshwari had kept–which contained the blue stone-Neelam, which could either bring riches or simply destroy a person. Priya Nath dissuades Shri Nathji from wearing it.
