Lord Hanuman was Shri Nathji’s devotee in the age when Shri Nathji had come as Lord Rama. “Someone asked Hanumanji what his relationship with Lord Rama was, and Hanumanji replied:“Even though he was very strong and powerful – whenever he sat before Rama, it was in a posture of intense humility, knees bowed, hands folded, as if he were the weakest person on earth. A devotee must be brave before the world, but ever meek before His Master, God!”Mrs. Vig of Allahabad had seen the spectre of Hanuman at her home at Allahabad. Hanuman had spoken threateningly to her asking her to abandon her faith in Shri Nathji or else he would destroy her as well as her family. At first Mrs. Vig had been very scared, but later her faith in Shri Nathji filled her with courage and she said with great fearlessless to Hauman:“Do your worst, you cannot harm me! Shri Nathji is protecting me!”Hanuman immediately began to smile and congratulated Mrs. Vig on her faith, saying:“I was merely testing your faith in Shri Nathji. He and Lord Rama are one and the same!”There was the time when Shri Nathji’s devotee, a certain Mandanbhai, who was in Chandrapur at the time as a forest contractor, was under severe threat from his enemies. He was frightened and wondered how Shri Nathjj would be able to protect him. “A devotee must have an appearance that pleases the Lord. Someone once told Hanuman that Sita Maharani liked sindhoor, vermillion. Immediately thereafter Hanuman applied sindhoor to his entire body!”Shri Nathji would also add:“Rama ki shakti kaa to iss se pataa chal gayaa ke Hanuman Rama kaa naam lekar saagar ke paar ho gaye. Jiske naam men itni shakti thhee uss men swaiyam kitni shakti hogi!“The strength of Rama was revealed in the fact that his name alone could carry Hanuman aross the ocean. If his name was endowed with so much power, you can imagine how much more powerful Rama must have been himself!“The reason Rama had to build a bridge to cross the ocean was because he wished to give his devotees a chance to serve him, so that they could gain salvation through this Divine Service.”
