Shri Nathji who was lying in bed gets up and says:“Uthhaa thhaa–baithhe baithhe aur lete lete thhakaavat ho gayi hai! Jism bandhhaa, bandhhaa lagtaa hai, jaise jakrraa jakrraa ho. Aise pichhle saal garmiyon men hotaa thhaa!“I had got up–I felt exhausted sitting up and lying down. The body appears to be cramped and rigid. I had this kind of a feeling in the summers last year.”On seeing that Priya Nath is becoming alarmed, Shri Nathji instantly re-assures him with the words:“Kuchh naheen hai, maamooli see thhakaavat hai! Zaraa se aaraam se ttheek ho jaayegi!Priya Nath massages Shri Nathji’s arms and legs over his clothes for about 10 minutes, and Shri Nathji is quick to tell him that the fatigue is greatly relieved! He is also concerned lest Priya Nath tire himself out while massaging him:“BasShri Nathji sleeps for a while and then gets up and goes groggily to the bathroom. He tells Priya Nath:“Thhorraa dhhoop men baithh lete hain! Aaj chalenge naheen!Priya Nath senses that Shri Nathji is not well and is concealing his symptoms from him, and begins to worry in a greatly excited state, causing Shri Nathji to say to him:“Issee leeye to main bataataa naheen hoon–aap itnaa zyaadaa“That is why I do not tell you–because you begin to worry so much, and magnify the smallest of things!Priya Nath realises belatedly with horror that Shri Nathji’s fatigue was a very natural thing–he had been absolutely tired out by the long hours of watching the video films one after another. Priya Nath records in his diary:“It is always I who bring trouble over Him–six hours of video watching in one day, plus an uncomfortable cramped position while sitting, plus the forty five minute loud lecture on the same day coupled with another video viewing the day after. Exhaustion is the natural outcome–all due to my wretched enthusiasm to show the video films to Taman and S.K. Khanna. It is always I who am responsible for Pitaji’s illnesses. Last year also I had fatigued Pitaji through the repeated programmes in public in the cold, along with video films where he exerted himself to the utmost.”“O God, please remove his fatigue. Please God, please forgive me for bringing this fatigue upon him–it is entirely my doing. I am responsible for Pitaji’s discomfiture, as always in the past!” Shri Nathji falls asleep and wakes up at 10 a.m. and takes tea in bed. After tea he takes the usual Isordil tablet and thereafter becomes more and more talkative, not even once suggesting that it was the fatigue of watching the video films! “Miracle “The fatigue vanished by a miracle!”Priya Nath records: “The Good Lord has heard my prayers! But this is a warning to not to take liberties with Pitaji’s delicate health. He must never overstrain himself.”“Mujhe to ye khyaal thhaa shaayad kayi din lag jaayenge isse ttheek hote!“I had thought it would take several days for the fatigue to go away!”So grave indeed had the fatigue been, which Shri Nathji had revealed to Priya Nath only in bits and pieces, so as not to alarm him.
