Shri Nathji gave the example of three types of dolls. One was made of salt, another of cloth, and the third one of stone. All three were thrown into water. The first one dissolved completely. The second one was drenched in the water, and allowed the water to enter within itself. The third one was only made wet on the outside. The water could not permeate to its core, although the coolness reached within.
Similarly, there were three kinds of people. The first kind merged completely into God-consciousness. The second kind were partially receptive. They allowed God-consciousness, but at the same time retained their individual ‘I’. The third kind were impermeable. But even they felt a coolness come to their hearts from the nearness of God, a feeling that was different from that of the material senses.
