On the night of October 16, Shri Nathji had an intense suffocation feeling and Priya Nath telephoned Dr. Corolli who said it could be psychological, and asked Priya Nath to give a tablet of Eskazine. Priya Nath however did not give the Eskazine tablet, which he knew was a drug for depression and anxiety and not a heart medicine. He was convinced that the doctor was wrong. Fortunately the suffocation feeling subsided by itself.Shri Nathji later disclosed to Priya Nath:“Priyaji, saans ke rukne se zyaadaa koyi takleef naheen hoti. Saans hee to life hai.“Priyaji there can be no distress greater than that caused by the stopping of breath. Breathing is, after all, life.”It was only then that Priya Nath realised what acute suffering Shri Nathji had been enduring and concealing from him. Priya Nath’s panic reactions had proved to be counter-productive. Shri Nathji was so afraid for the welfare of Priya Nath that he would not even disclose the worst of his symptoms to him.“PromiseAnd Shri Nathji said:“Priyaji aap itnaa zyaadaa worry karne lag jaate ho ke hamaari himmat hee naheen parrti kuchh aapko bataane ki.“Priyaji you begin to worry so much that I do not have the courage to tell you about anything.”
However Priya Nath added:“One never knows when it may be a medical emergency and a doctor is needed. So you must tell me or I will never know! Promise me that you will tell me!”Shri Nathji’s walking is greatly reduced due to the suffocation problem, and he has begun to wear more and more warm clothes. At night he is frequently in his brown bala clava woollen cap, warm socks, warm pyjamas, his green woollen sweater over the red one, and a warm brown shirt.
