Shri Nathji often spoke of Lord Buddha. When he was a young prince he saw the misery in the world for the first time and was appalled by it.
He had to find a release from the sorrows of the world, and he ultimately found it in Nirvana. Thus it was the misery of the world that caused him to become Bhagwan Buddha from an ordinary prince.
Shri Nathji often spoke of Lord Buddha in these words: When Lord Buddha was on his deathbed, his disciple Anand was with him. And Lord Buddha said to him:
‘Decay is inherent in all compounded things, hence work out your salvation energetically.’ This was Shri Nathji’s warning to mankind, even as he quoted the words of Lord Buddha.
Shri Nathji continued:
It was during the last moments of Lord Buddha that some visitors came for his darshan. However Anand was afraid they would disturb his Master, and so he sent them away.
When Lord Buddha learnt of this, he was very pained and said to his disciple:
“Anand, I am afraid you have learnt nothing. Why did you send these persons away? Tell me, now that you have sent them away, will I be able to live longer?
“How blessed is that flame, which is about to die out, and its last rays can save even one person from falling in the darkness!”
