A certain minister in the government came to Shri Nathji and said: We know that this world is not something that we must attach ourselves to, but if we must attach ourselves, then to what or to whom? We see nothing else before us but the world.
And Shri Nathji said:
Think of a glass full of water. Can you put air inside it? No. The glass is already full of water. Therefore, if you wish to put air into the glass what must you do? You cannot grab the air with your hand and force it into the glass, because you cannot see the air in the first place! But there is a very simple way – just throw the water out, and the air shall enter within the glass by itself!
All you have to do is to throw out all worldly desires–which constitute your ego – and God shall enter within your heart of His own accord.
