No matter how absorbed Shri Nathji was in the humanity around him, he never forgot the children. He was the most indulgent father upon earth. He would even cut short his sermon if the children wished to be taken out for a drive or to a movie. Shri Nathji and Mateshwari would take Pran Nath and Priya Nath to the Eros Cinema Hall at Church Gate where they would watch Walt Disney’s Cartoons or Laurel and Hardy films.
Shri Nathji would, as always, take them for walks along Marine Drive, eat from the coconut kernels with them, taste of the delicacy of the spiced chaat at Chawpatty, and take spoonfuls of ice cream in restaurants, not to forget the vegetarian lunch at Purohit’s Restaurant.
The visit to the toyshops would be the perennial pastime of the children, encouraged by Shri Nathji, who always sought the best of toys for them. There was Shri Nathji’s visit to the toy department of Thacker and Company in Bombay, whose proprietor had great respect for Shri Nathji. Shri Nathji took the boys there and left them to look upon the toys displayed there.
