Train reservations were obtained for Dehra Dun, and Shri Nathji and his family were locking up their rooms to go to the Railway Station to catch the train in time. Just then a letter arrived from the proprietor of the hotel, in which he wanted Shri Nathji to vacate the rooms. Although the reason he gave was for the renovation of the rooms, the hidden motive was to take possession of the rooms and to rent them out at higher rates to others.
Shri Nathji could not reply to the notice, as he had to catch the train. Shri Nathji had hoped that, because he had been paying the rent regularly, and had enjoyed cordial relations with the proprietor, and the man was a friend of Chopra, he would wait till Shri Nathji returned from Mussoorie.
